## Summary

In preparation for creating some (sub) issues for
https://github.com/astral-sh/ruff/issues/14164, I'm trying to document
the current behavior (and a bug) a bit better.

Markdown files within the mdtest/ subdirectory are tests of type inference and type checking; executed by the tests/mdtest.rs integration test.
