This required a bit of surgery in the diagnostic matching and more faffing about using a "concise" message from a diagnostic instead of only printing the "primary" message.
Markdown files within the mdtest/ subdirectory are tests of type inference and type checking;
executed by the tests/mdtest.rs integration test.
