The Microblaze dynamic ftrace code assumes a call ordering that is not met
in all scenarios. Specifically, executing a command similar to:
echo 105 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/set_ftrace_pid
before any other tracing-related commands results in a kernel panic:
BUG: failure at arch/microblaze/kernel/ftrace.c:198/ftrace_update_ftrace_func()!
Recoding ftrace_update_ftrace_func() to use &ftrace_caller directly eliminates
the need to capture its address elsewhere (and thus rely on a particular call
sequence).

Data address breakpoint exceptions are currently handled along with page-faults
which require interrupts to remain in enabled state. Since exception handling
for data breakpoints aren't pre-empt safe, we handle them separately.

We can't just clear the user read permission in book3e pte, because
that will also clear supervisor read permission. This surely isn't
desired. Fix the problem by adding the supervisor read back.

The maple platform failed to load because it's firmware could not take a
link address of 0x4000000. A new platform type with a link address of
0x400000 had to be created for the maple.

This patch adds setting of the urb transfer flag URB_ZERO_PACKET before
submitting an urb for drivers that have requested it (by advertising flag
FLAG_SEND_ZLP).
The modification is in usbnet.c function usbnet_start_xmit().
This patch only adds the zero length flag.
A subsequent patch will address the buggy code we found when devices do not
advertise FLAG_SEND_ZLP in which case there is a possibility of transferring
packets with non-deterministic length.
This patch has been tested on kernel-2.6.34-rc3.
This patch has been checked against net-2.6 tree.

This patch makes it explicit in the API that all fields in subscriptions and events exchanged with the Topology Server must be in
network byte order.
It also ensures that all fields of a subscription are compared when cancelling a subscription, in order to avoid inadvertent
cancelling of the wrong subscription.
Finally, the tipc module version is updated to 2.0.0, to reflect the API change.

This patch adds support for using the LL TEMAC Ethernet driver on
non-Virtex 5 platforms by adding support for accessing the Soft DMA
registers as if they were memory mapped instead of solely through the
DCR's (available on the Virtex 5).
The patch also updates the driver so that it runs on the MicroBlaze.
The changes were tested on the PowerPC 440, PowerPC 405, and the
MicroBlaze platforms.

a) slow work is always used now for any fbcon hotplug, as its not
a fast task and is more suited to being ran under slow work.
b) attempt to not do any fbdev changes when X is running as we'll
just mess it up. This hooks set_par to hopefully do the changes
once X hands control to fbdev.
This also adds the nouveau/intel hotplug support.

When we are running in a headless environment we have no idea what
output the user might plug in later, we only have hotplug detect
from the digital outputs. So if we detect no connected outputs at
initialisation, start a slow work operation to poll every 5 seconds
for an output.
this is only hooked up for radeon so far, on hw where we have full
hotplug detection there is no need for this.

If we get no outputs setup provide a 1024x768 fbcon, with
this + radeon hotplug stuff I can plug a monitor in after startup
and get to see stuff.
Last thing is to add some sort of timer for non-hpd outputs like
VGA etc.

This breaks the connection between the core drm connector list
and the fbdev connector usage, and allows them to become disjoint
in the future. It also removes the untype void* that was in the
connector struct to support this.
All connectors are added to the fbdev now but this could be
changed in the future.

This move to using the list of crtcs in the fb helper and cleans up the
whole picking code, now we store the crtc/connectors we want directly
into the modeset and we use the modeset directly to set the mode.

The fbdev layer in the kms code should act like a consumer of the kms services and avoid having relying on information being store in the kms core structures in order for it to work.
This patch
a) removes the info pointer/psuedo palette from the core drm_framebuffer structure and moves it to the fbdev helper layer, it also removes the core drm keeping a list of kernel kms fbdevs.
b) migrated all the fb helper functions out of the crtc helper file into the fb helper file.
c) pushed the fb probing/hotplug control into the driver
d) makes the surface sizes into a structure for ease of passing
This changes the intel/radeon/nouveau drivers to use the new helper.

This driver seems to be specific to a "Sky CPU" board for which we
don't appear to have upstream support (or not any more). No Kconfig
file in the kernel ever enables it. So remove it.

When ide taskfile access is being used (for example with hdparm --security
commands) and cfq scheduler is selected, the scheduler crashes on BUG in
cfq_put_request.
The reason is that the cfq scheduler is tracking counts of read and write
requests separately; the ide-taskfile subsystem allocates a read request and
then flips the flag to make it a write request. The counters in cfq will
mismatch.
This patch changes ide-taskfile to allocate the READ or WRITE request as
required and don't change the flag later.

Add support for the hardware version of the Hamming weight function,
popcnt, present in CPUs which advertize it under CPUID, Function
0x0000_0001_ECX[23]. On CPUs which don't support it, we fallback to the
default lib/hweight.c sw versions.
A synthetic benchmark comparing popcnt with __sw_hweight64 showed almost
a 3x speedup on a F10h machine.

NODEMASK_ALLOC/FREE are mapped to kmalloc/free if NODES_SHIFT > 8.
Among its several users, drivers/base/node.c wasn't including slab.h
leading to build failure if NODES_SHIFT > 8. Include slab.h from
drivers/base/node.c.
This isn't an ideal solution but including slab.h directly from
nodemask.h is not an option because nodemask.h gets included
everywhere. For now, make it work by including slab.h from its users.

There is a problem with the ACPI video resume routine that it's
executed before the GPU that may be accessed by it. To fix this
issue, move the ACPI video resume to a power management notifier,
so that's executed after resuming all devices, including the GPU.

Increase the fixed listen-interval max value configured to the mac80211 on
driver init. This value will allow a larger value to be configured to the
AP, which means the AP will buffer our frames longer.

Configure meaningful rates to be used with the templates. For control frames,
use the determined basic rates (currently the lowest rate for the band) and
for data-frames (null-funcs) let the firmware use the current rate policy to
determine the rate.

Currently the mac80211 is not telling a hardware rate controlled driver a
rate to use for association frames etc. So to be safe, use the lowest rate
of each band for communication.

The firmware does not like the host configuring the keep-alive after it has
been once configured after a join-operation. Instead, it will complain about
invalid parameters, which do not break functionality, but do not look nice
in the syslog either.
This patch prevents the complaints by only configuring the keep-alive once
for an association, after the first time join is performed with the correct
bssid.

The command header was missing in the wl1271_cmd_disconnect structure. It
was working fine by sheer luck, because the parameters are not critical and
because our wl1271_cmd_send() function was overwriting the rx_config_options
with the actual header.
This patch adds the header to the command structure.

ah->mask_reg was used to hold different data throughout the driver.
ath9k_hw_init_interrupt_masks() used it to save the value written to
AR_IMR. ath9k_hw_set_interrupts() used it to hold the interrupt mask as
defined in enum ath9k_int. Those masks differ in many bits.
Use ah->imask instead of ah->mask_reg in ath9k_hw_set_interrupts() and
ath9k_hw_updatetxtriglevel(). That's what the code was meant to do.
ah->imask is initialized in ath9k_start(), so we don't need to
initialize it from ah->mask_reg.
Once it's done, ah->mask_reg becomes write-only, so it's replaced with a
local variable in ath9k_hw_init_interrupt_masks().
