Functions that were calling xzalloc also returned -1 when, for other
reasons, it could fail, and the calleds are coping with failures, so
stop using die() and xzalloc().

That could leave filedescriptors open and leak memory. Also stop using
xmalloc, use malloc and handle results just like other error cases in
the same routine that used it.

It is hard to read very large numbers so provide an option to perf stat
to separate thousands using a separator. The patch leverages the locale
support of stdio. You need to set your LC_NUMERIC appropriately, for
instance LC_NUMERIC=en_US.UTF8. You need to pass -B to activate this
feature. This way existing scripts parsing the output do not need to be
changed. Here is an example.

Some LVDS connectors don't have a ddc bus, so reset the
ddc bus to invalid before parsing the next connector
to avoid using stale ddc bus data. Should fix
fdo bug 28164.

The current initialisation code probes 'unsupported' AGP devices
simply by calling its own probe function. It does not lock these
devices or even check whether another driver is already bound to
them.
We must use the device core to manage this. So if the specific
device id table didn't match anything and agp_try_unsupported=1,
switch the device id table and call driver_attach() again.

SIS 760 is listed in the device tables for both amd64-agp and sis-agp.
amd64-agp is apparently preferable since it has workarounds for some
BIOS misconfigurations that sis-agp doesn't handle.

In normal xattr set, the set sequence is inode, xattr block
and finally xattr bucket if we meet with a ENOSPC. But there
is a corner case.
So consider we will set a xattr whose value will be stored in
a cluster, and there is no xattr block by now. So we will
reserve 1 xattr block and 1 cluster for setting it. Now if we
fail in value extension(in case the volume is almost full and
we can't allocate the cluster because the check in
ocfs2_test_bg_bit_allocatable), ENOSPC will be returned. So
we will try to create a bucket(this time there is a chance that
the reserved cluster will be used), and when we try value extension
again, kernel bug happens. We did meet with it. Check the bug below.

This patch just try to avoid this by adding a set_abort in
ocfs2_xattr_set_ctxt, so in case ENOSPC happens in value extension,
we will check whether it is caused by the real ENOSPC or just the
full of inode or xattr block. If it is the first case, we set set_abort
so that we don't try any further. we are safe to exit directly here
ince it is really ENOSPC.

Currently we process a dirty lockres with the lockres->spinlock taken. While
during the process, we may need to lock on dlm->ast_lock. This breaks the
dependency of dlm->ast_lock(lock first) and lockres->spinlock(lock second).
This patch fixes the problem.
Since we can't release lockres->spinlock, we have to take dlm->ast_lock
just before taking the lockres->spinlock and release it after lockres->spinlock
is released. And use __dlm_queue_bast()/__dlm_queue_ast(), the nolock version,
in dlm_shuffle_lists(). There are no too many locks on a lockres, so there is no
performance harm.

In ocfs2_prepare_xattr_entry, if we fail to grow an existing value,
xa_cleanup_value_truncate() will leave the old entry in place. Thus, we
reset its value size. However, if we were allocating a new value, we
must not reset the value size or we will BUG(). This resolves
oss.oracle.com bug 1247.

We're depending here on the boot time that we use to generate the
stateid being monotonic, but get_seconds() is not necessarily.
We still depend at least on boot_time being different every time, but
that is a safer bet.
We have a few reports of errors that might be explained by this problem,
though we haven't been able to confirm any of them.
But the minor gain of distinguishing expired from stale errors seems not
worth the risk.

This patch ensures that all places that schedule the DAD timer
look at the address state in a safe manner before scheduling the
timer. This ensures that we don't end up with pending timers
after deleting an address.

This patch makes use of the new state_lock to synchronise between
updates to the ifa state. This fixes the issue where a remotely
triggered address deletion (through DAD failure) coincides with a
local administrative address deletion, causing certain actions to
be performed twice incorrectly.

This patch replaces the boolean dead flag on inet6_ifaddr with
a state enum. This allows us to roll back changes when deleting
an address according to whether DAD has completed or not.
This patch only adds the state field and does not change the logic.

Using a single timeout for all transaction that need to be flushed does
not work if the submission of new transactions can defer the timeout
indefinitely into the future. We need to have timeouts that do not
change due to other transactions; the simplest way to do this is with a
separate timer for each transaction.

Because SLOB fancies being different, the default minimum alignment is
only "unsigned long" instead of SLAB/SLUB where the default is
"unsigned long long"
The inconsistency makes no sense and is asking for trouble, but define
ARCH_SLAB_MINALIGN to get it right in all cases even after they fix
the inconsistency.

The PF driver needs to remain alert while its ports are down to service
requests or errors from virtual functions or FW so keep interrupts and
queues available when the ports are brought down. The change makes
open_device_map unnecessary so remove it.

Everytime the iSCSI ring finishes setup or shutdown, we need to return
the SPQ (slow path queue) credit to the bnx2x driver. Without this step,
the SPQ will eventually be full causing iSCSI to fail. This can happen
after 3 or 4 MTU changes for example.
Add code to wait for these slow path commands to complete in the RX ring
and return the SPQ credit to bnx2x.

This patch eliminates the node pointer from struct of_device and the
of_node (or prom_node) pointer from struct dev_archdata since the node
pointer is now part of struct device proper when CONFIG_OF is set, and
all users of the old pointer locations have already been converted over
to use device->of_node.
Also remove dev_archdata_{get,set}_node() as it is no longer used by
anything.

Install handler for swap_slot_free_notify callback which is called
when a swap slot is no longer used. This handler immediately frees

This callback is required when RAM based devices are used as swap disks.
One such device is ramzswap which is used as compressed in-memory swap
disk. For such devices, we need a callback as soon as a swap slot is no
longer used to allow freeing memory allocated for this slot. Without this
callback, stale data can quickly accumulate in memory defeating the whole
purpose of such devices.

Added SWP_BLKDEV flag to distinguish block and regular file backed
swap devices. We could also check if a swap is entire block device,
rather than a file, by:
S_ISBLK(swap_info_struct->swap_file->f_mapping->host->i_mode)
but, I think, simply checking this flag is more convenient.

This fixes an omission in 2.6.31-rc1 commit 1e626fdc "firewire: core:
use more outbound tlabels" which prevented to really use 64 instead of
32 transaction labels, as soon as split transactions occurred that had
their AR-resp tasklet run after the AT-req tasklet.

pci_read/write_vpd() can fail due to a timeout. Usually the command
times out because of firmware issues (incorrect vpd length, etc.) on the
PCI card. Currently, the timeout occurs silently.
Output a message to the user indicating that they should check with
their vendor for new firmware.

This patch removes the private memory allocator
and all conjugated functions. Now the driver uses
videobuf-dma-contig module for allocations.
Added reserving 4MB coherent memory for private
per device allocations at probe time.
