442305b152 i7core_edac: Add a memory check routine, based on device 3 function 4
This function appears only on Xeon 5500 datasheet. Yet, testing with a
Xeon 3503 showed that this is also implemented on other Nehalem
processors.

At the first read, MC_TEST_ERR_RCV1 and MC_TEST_ERR_RCV0 can contain any
value. Modify CE error logic to update the error count only after the
second read.

An alternative approach would be to do a write at rcv0 and rcv1
registers, but it seemed better to keep they untouched, since BIOS might
eventually assume that they are exclusive for their usage.

8f33190757 i7core_edac: Registers all supported MC functions
Now, it will try to register on all supported Memory Controller
functions.

It should be noticed that dev3, function 2 is present only on chips with
Registered DIMM's, according to the datasheet. So, the driver doesn't
return -ENODEV is all functions but this one were successfully
registered and enabled:

a0c36a1f0f i7core_edac: Add an EDAC memory controller driver for Nehalem chipsets
This driver is meant to support i7 core/i7core extreme desktop
processors and Xeon 35xx/55xx series with integrated memory controller.
It is likely that it can be expanded in the future to work with other
processor series based at the same Memory Controller design.

For now, it has just a few MCH status reads.

c4e773764c mtd: fix a huge latency problem in the MTD CFI and LPDDR flash drivers.
The use of a memcpy() during a spinlock operation will cause very long
thread context switch delays if the flash chip bandwidth is low and the
data to be copied large, because a spinlock will disable preemption.

For example: A flash with 6,5 MB/s bandwidth will cause under ubifs,
which request sometimes 128 KiB (the flash erase size), a preemption delay of
20 milliseconds. High priority threads will not be served during this
time, regardless whether this threads access the flash or not. This behavior
breaks real time.

The patch changes all the use of spin_lock operations for xxxx->mutex
into mutex operations, which is exact what the name says and means.

I have checked the code of the drivers and there is no use of atomic
pathes like interrupt or timers. The mtdoops facility will also not be used
by this drivers. So it is dave to replace the spin_lock against mutex.

There is no performance regression since the mutex is normally not
acquired.

4a70b7d395 mtd: OneNAND: OMAP2/3: unmap correct DMA buffer
Functions omap2_onenand_write_bufferram() and omap3_onenand_write_bufferram()
map the write buffer and store the returned handle in variable dma_src. However,
when DMA unmap is done, variable dma_dst is used instead of the correct dma_src.

This patch fixes them to use the correct DMA buffer.

45c34e05c4 Oprofile: Change CPUIDS from decimal to hex, and add some comments
Back when the patch was submitted for "Add Xeon 7500 series support to
oprofile", Robert Richter had asked for a followon patch that
converted all the CPU ID values to hex.

I have done that here for the "i386/core_i7" and "i386/atom" class
processors in the ppro_init() function and also added some comments on
where to find documentation on the Intel processors.

d7e81c269d clocksource: Add clocksource_register_hz/khz interface
How to pick good mult/shift pairs has always been difficult to
describe to folks writing clocksource drivers, since it requires
careful tradeoffs in adjustment accuracy vs overflow limits.

Now, with the clocks_calc_mult_shift function, its much
easier. However, not many clocksources have converted to using that
function, and there is still the issue of the max interval length
assumption being made by each clocksource driver independently.

So this patch simplifies the registration process by having
clocksources be registered with a hz/khz value and the registration
function taking care of setting mult/shift.

This should take most of the confusion out of writing a clocksource
driver.

Additionally it also keeps the shift size tradeoff (more accuracy vs
longer possible nohz times) centralized so the timekeeping core can
keep track of the assumptions being made.

29f87b793d posix-cpu-timers: Optimize run_posix_cpu_timers()
We can optimize and simplify things taking into account signal->cputimer
is always running when we have configured any process wide cpu timer.

In check_process_timers(), we don't have to check if new updated value of
signal->cputime_expires is smaller, since we maintain new first expiration
time ({prof,virt,sched}_expires) in code flow and all other writes to
expiration cache are protected by sighand->siglock .

7e619bc3e6 GFS2: Fix writing to non-page aligned gfs2_quota structures
This is the upstream fix for this bug. This patch differs
from the RHEL5 fix (Red Hat bz #555754) which simply writes to the 8-byte
value field of the quota. In upstream quota code, we're
required to write the entire quota (88 bytes) which can be split
across a page boundary. We check for such quotas, and read/write
the two parts from/to the corresponding pages holding these parts.

With this patch, I don't see the bug anymore using the reproducer
in Red Hat bz 555754. I successfully ran a couple of simple tests/mounts/
umounts and it doesn't seem like this patch breaks anything else.

bbd725435d IPv4: unresolved multicast route cleanup
Fixes the expiration timer for unresolved multicast route entries.
In case new multicast routing requests come in faster than the 
expiration timeout occurs (e.g. zap through multicast TV streams), the 
timer is prevented from being called at time for already existing entries.

As the single timer is resetted to default whenever a new entry is made, 
the timeout for existing unresolved entires are missed and/or not 
updated. As a consequence new requests are denied when the limit of 
unresolved entries has been reached because old entries live longer than 
they are supposed to.

The solution is to reset the timer only for the first unresolved entry 
in the multicast routing cache. All other timers are already set and 
updated correctly within the timer function itself by now.

5e2ff328c0 sh: rework memory limits to work with LMB.
This reworks the memory limit handling to tie in through the available
LMB infrastructure. This requires a bit of reordering as we need to have
all of the LMB reservations taken care of prior to establishing the
limits.

While we're at it, the crash kernel reservation semantics are reworked
so that we allocate from the bottom up and reduce the risk of having
to disable the memory limit due to a clash with the crash kernel
reservation.

3efab7dcc0 ASoC: Allow DAI links to be kept active over suspend
As well as allowing DAPM pins to be marked as ignoring suspend allow DAI
links to be similarly marked.  This is primarily intended for digital
links between CODECs and non-CPU devices such as basebands in mobile
phones and will suppress all suspend calls for the DAI link.  It is
likely that this will need to be revisited if used with devices which
are part of the SoC CPU.

1547aba993 ASoC: Support leaving paths enabled over system suspend
Some devices can usefully run audio while the Linux system is suspended.
One of the most common examples is smartphone systems, which are normally
designed to allow audio to be run between the baseband and the CODEC
without passing through the CPU and so can suspend the CPU when on a
voice call for additional power savings.

Support such systems by providing an API snd_soc_dapm_ignore_suspend().
This can be used to mark DAPM endpoints as not being sensitive to
system suspend. When the system is being suspended paths between
endpoints which are marked as ignoring suspend will be kept active.
Both source and sink must be marked, and there must already be an
active path between the two endpoints prior to suspend.

When paths are active over suspend the bias management will hold the
device bias in the ON state. This is used to avoid suspending the
CODEC while it is still in use.

replacing all cases where we report a connected endpoint in a path
with a function snd_soc_dapm_suspend_check() which looks at the ALSA
power state for the card and reports false if we are in a D3 state.

Since the core moves us into D3 prior to initating the suspend all
power checks during suspend will cause the widgets to be powered
down. In order to ensure that widgets are powered up on resume set
the card to D2 at the start of resume handling (ALSA API calls
require D0 so we are still protected against userspace access).

29e189c29d ASoC: Remove unneeded suspend bias managment from CODEC drivers
The core will ensure that the device is in either STANDBY or OFF bias
before suspending, restoring the bias in the driver is unneeded. Some
drivers doing slightly more roundabout things have been left alone
for now.
