92d39d0183 dt-bindings: serial: atmel,at91-usart: update compatible for sam9x60
There is only one debug unit in the sam9x60 SOC and it has the chipid
register. So, the dbgu compatible strings are valid only for debug usart.
Defining these dbgu compatible strings are not valid for flexcom usart.
So adding the items which is valid only for flexcom usart and removing
the microchip,sam9x60-usart compatible string from the enum list as no
usart node defines only this specific compatible string.

a9025a5f16 Merge tag 'soc-newsoc-6.5' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/soc/soc
Pull new ARM SoC support from Arnd Bergmann:
"There are two new SoC families this time, and both appear fairly
similar: The Nuvoton MA35D1 and the STMicroelectronics STM32MP2 are
both dual-core Cortex-A35 based chips for the low-power industrial
embedded market, and they mark the first 64-bit product in a widely
used family of 32-bit Arm MCUs and SoCs.

The way into the kernel is completely different here: The team at ST
has a long history of working upstream with their STM32MP1 and other
SoCs, and they produced a complete port to arm64 together with the
initial announcement. Nuvoton also has multiple SoC product lines with
current or previous upstream support, but those are maintained by
third parties and are unrelated. The patch series from Nuvoton's Jacky
Huang had to go through many revisisions to get to this point and is
still missing a few drivers including the serial port for the moment.

The branch contains the devicetree files as well as all the code
changes, in order to have something that can be tested standalone"

Pull ARM SoC devicetree updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"The biggest change this time is for the 32-bit devicetree files, which
are all moved to a new location, using separate subdirectories for
each SoC vendor, following the same scheme that is used on arm64, mips
and riscv. This has been discussed for many years, but so far we never
did this as there was a plan to move the files out of the kernel
  entirely, which has never happened.

The impact of this will be that all external patches no longer apply,
and anything depending on the location of the dtb files in the build
directory will have to change. The installed files after 'make
  dtbs_install' keep the current location.

There are six added SoCs here that are largely variants of previously
added chips. Two other chips are added in a separate branch along with
  their device drivers.

   - The Samsung Exynos 4212 makes its return after the Samsung Galaxy
Express phone is addded at last. The SoC support was originally
added in 2012 but removed again in 2017 as it was unused at the
     time.

   - Amlogic C3 is a Cortex-A35 based smart IP camera chip

   - Qualcomm MSM8939 (Snapdragon 615) is a more featureful variant of
the still common MSM8916 (Snapdragon 410) phone chip that has been
     supported for a long time.

   - Qualcomm SC8180x (Snapdragon 8cx) is one of their earlier high-end
laptop chips, used in the Lenovo Flex 5G, which is added along with
     the reference board.

   - Qualcomm SDX75 is the latest generation modem chip that is used as
a peripherial in phones but can also run a standalone Linux. Unlike
     the prior 32-bit SDX65 and SDX55, this now has a 64-bit Cortex-A55.

   - Alibaba T-Head TH1520 is a quad-core RISC-V chip based on the
Xuantie C910 core, a step up from all previously added rv64 chips.

All of the above come with reference board implementations, those
included there are 39 new board files, but only five more 32-bit this
  time, probably a new low:

   - Marantec Maveo board based on dhcor imx6ull module

   - Endian 4i Edge 200, based on the armv5 Marvell Kirkwood chip

   - Epson Moverio BT-200 AR glasses based on TI OMAP4

   - PHYTEC STM32MP1-3 Dev board based on STM32MP15 PHYTEC SOM

   - ICnova ADB4006 board based on Allwinner A20

On the 64-bit side, there are also fewer addded machines than we had
  in the recent releases:

   - Three boards based on NXP i.MX8: Emtop SoM & Baseboard, NXP i.MX8MM
EVKB board and i.MX8MP based Gateworks Venice gw7905-2x device.

   - NVIDIA IGX Orin and Jetson Orin Nano boards, both based on tegra234

   - Qualcomm gains support for 6 reference boards on various members of
their IPQ networking SoC series, as well as the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua
phone, the Acer Aspire 1 laptop, and the Fxtec Pro1X board on top
of the various reference platforms for their new chips.

   - Rockchips support for several newer boards: Indiedroid Nova
(rk3588), Edgeble Neural Compute Module 6B (rk3588), FriendlyARM
     NanoPi R2C Plus (rk3328), Anbernic RG353PS (rk3566), Lunzn
     Fastrhino R66S/R68S (rk3568)

   - TI K3/AM625 based PHYTEC phyBOARD-Lyra-AM625 board and Toradex
Verdin family with AM62 COM, carrier and dev boards

Other changes to existing boards contain the usual minor improvements
  along with

   - continued updates to clean up dts files based on dtc warnings and
binding checks, in particular cache properties and node names

   - support for devicetree overlays on at91, bcm283x

   - significant additions to existing SoC support on mediatek,
qualcomm, ti k3 family, starfive jh71xx, NXP i.MX6 and i.MX8, ST
     STM32MP1

As usual, a lot more detail is available in the individual merge
  commits"

ec956e2c6f dt-bindings: serial: snps-dw-apb-uart: Switch dma-names order
Commit 370f696e44 ("dt-bindings: serial: snps-dw-apb-uart: add dma &
dma-names properties") documented dma-names property to handle Allwinner
D1 dtbs_check warnings, but relies on the rx->tx ordering, which is the
reverse of what a different board expects:

  rk3326-odroid-go2.dtb: serial@ff030000: dma-names:0: 'rx' was expected

A quick and incomplete check shows the inconsistency is present in many
other DTS files:

$ git grep -A10 snps,dw-apb-uart | grep dma-names | sort -u
arch/arm64/boot/dts/rockchip/px30.dtsi-         dma-names = "tx", "rx";

arch/arm64/boot/dts/rockchip/rk3588s.dtsi-      dma-names = "tx", "rx";

arch/arm/boot/dts/rv1126.dtsi-                  dma-names = "tx", "rx";
arch/arm/boot/dts/socfpga.dtsi-                 dma-names = "tx", "rx";

arch/arm/boot/dts/sunxi-h3-h5.dtsi-             dma-names = "rx", "tx";
arch/riscv/boot/dts/allwinner/sunxi-d1s-t113.dtsi-  dma-names = "rx", "tx";

The initial proposed solution was to allow a flexible dma-names order in
the binding, due to potential ABI breakage concerns after fixing the DTS
files. But luckily the Allwinner boards are not really affected, since
all of them are using a shared DMA channel for rx and tx:

$ git grep -A10 snps,dw-apb-uart | grep 'sun.*dmas' | sort -u

0c559bc8ab dt-bindings: serial: restrict possible child node names
The re-usable serial.yaml schema matches every property with ".*"
pattern, thus any other schema referencing it will not report unknown
(unevaluated) properties. This hides several wrong properties. It is
a limitation of dtschema, thus provide a simple workaround: expect
children to be only of few names matching upstream usage (Bluetooth,
GNSS, GPS and MCU).

45c1d967a7 dt-bindings: serial: rs485: Add GPIO controlling RX enable during TX
Add a binding for a generic definition of an output GPIO that sets the
state of rs485-rx-during-tx. The idea is that the hardware already controls
the option receiving during sending before it gets to the signal receiving
hardware. The standard RS485 is a half-duplex bus that in most cases is
driven by an UART controller. The advantage of using this GPIO is that it
is independent of the capabilities of the UART core and the UART driver.
On the hardware side the interface to the bus is controlled by a transceiver,
that has a pin called RE (RX Enable) or similar, which connects the bus to
the RX signal of the UART controller. The GPIO can switch between two states
to control the RE pin via an electrical circuit:
- Active:
The RE pin is always active. The UART RX see everything on the bus and
therefore also what happens with the TX signal on the bus.
- Inactive:
The RE pin is always active, but during sending on the bus the pin RE is
inactive. So basically the receiving during sending is suppressed.

A possible circuit diagram could look like this:
                                  ┌──────────────────┐
                                  │ RS485 │

                         │ ├──┤!RE │
!rx_during_tx_gpio ──────┤ │ │ │
                         └─────┘ │ │
                                  │ │
                RX ───────────────┤R │
                                  │ │
                                  └──────────────────┘

Here the RTS pin of the UART core is used to control TX via the transceiver
pin DE (Drive Enable). RE and rx_during_tx_gpio are active low.

"Here is the "big" set of tty/serial driver changes for 6.2-rc1.

As in previous kernel releases, nothing big here at all, just some
small incremental serial/tty layer cleanups and some individual driver
  additions and fixes. Highlights are:

   - serial helper macros from Jiri Slaby to reduce the amount of
     duplicated code in serial drivers

   - api cleanups and consolidations from Ilpo Järvinen in lots of
     serial drivers

   - the usual set of n_gsm fixes from Daniel Starke as that code gets
     exercised more

   - TIOCSTI is finally able to be disabled if requested (security
     hardening feature from Kees Cook)

   - fsl_lpuart driver fixes and features added

   - other small serial driver additions and fixes

All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
  problems"

7171a8da00 Merge tag 'arm-dt-6.1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/soc/soc
Pull ARM devicetree updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"Most of the changes fall into one of three categories: adding support
for additional devices on existing machines, cleaning up issues found
by the ongoing conversion to machine-readable bindings, and addressing
minor mistakes in the existing DT data.

Across SoC vendors, Qualcomm and Freescale stick out as getting the
most updates, which corresponds to their dominance in the mobile phone
  and embedded industrial markets, respectively.

There are 636 non-merge changeset in this branch, which is a little
lower than most times, but more importantly we only add 36 machine
files, which is about half of what we had the past few releases.

Eight new SoCs are added, but all of them are variations of already
supported SoC families, and most of them come with one reference board
  design from the SoC vendor:

   - Mediatek MT8186 is a Chromebook/Tablet type SoC, similar to the
MT65xx series of phone SoCs, with two Cortex-A76 and six Cortex-A55
     cores.

   - TI AM62A is another member of the K3 family with Cortex-A53 cores,
this one is targetted at Video/Vision processing for industrial and
     automotive applications.

   - NXP i.MX8DXL is another chip for this market in the ever-growing
i.MX8 family, this one again with two Cortex-A35 cores.

   - Renesas R-Car H3Ne-1.7G (R8A779MB) and R-Car V3H2 (R8A77980A) are
minor updates of R8A77951 and R8A77980, respectively.

   - Qualcomm IPQ8064-v2.0, IPQ8062 and IPQ8065 are all variants of the
IPQ8064 chip, with minimally different features.

The AMD Pensando Elba and Apple M1 Ultra SoC support was getting close
this time, but in the end did not make the cut.

The new machines based on existing SoC support are fairly uneventful:

   - Sony Xperia 1 IV is a fairly recent phone based on Qualcomm
     Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

   - Three Samsung phones based on Snapdragon 410: Galaxy E5, E7 and
Grand Max. These are added for both 32-bit and 64-bit kernels, as
they originally shipped running 32-bit code.

   - Two new servers using AST2600 BMCs: AMD DaytonaX and Ampere Mt.
     Mitchell

   - Three new machines based on Rockchips RK3399 and RK3566: Anberic
RG353P and RG503, Pine64 Pinephone Pro, Open AI Lab

   - Multiple NXP i.MX6/i.MX8 based boards: Kontron SL/BL i.MX8MM OSM-S,
i.MX8MM Gateworks GW7904, MSC SM2S-IMX8PLUS SoM and carrier board

   - Two development boards in the Microchip AT91 family: SAMA5D3-EDS
     and lan966x-pcb8290.

   - Minor variants of existing boards using Amlogic, Broadcom, Marvell,
Rockchips, Freescale Layerscape and Socionext Uniphier SoCs"
