The codec dies when RT5677_PWR_ANLG2(MX-64h) is set to 0xACE1 while it's streaming audio over SPI. The DSP firmware turns on PLL2 (MX-64 bit 8) when SPI streaming starts. However regmap does not believe that register can change by itself. When BST1 (bit 15) is turned on with regmap_update_bits(), it doesn't read the register first before write, so PLL2 power bit is cleared by accident. Marking MX-64h as volatile in regmap solved the issue. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
