Python clients open a fresh socket per command — every press call would return its OK, the client would close, and the server's recv path would see the close and reset s_input_override = -1 the same frame. Net effect was that every scheduled press lasted ~1 frame regardless of the requested frame count, leaving the BIOS to see at most a single edge event before the override evaporated. Removing the reset lets s_input_frames count down naturally, so a press holds for the full requested duration even though the issuing client isn't connected for the duration. pad_status now reports override=0xBFFF override_frames=110/99/88/... across half-second polls during a 120-frame press, instead of override=-1 the moment after the press is scheduled.
