From 3b0ea590fcc876fa017946f4cec009d653f02b38 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Yijie Lu <115929844+1NormalGuy@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Tue, 13 Oct 2026 06:11:26 +0800 Subject: [PATCH] fix(native): honor Mach-O chained pointer locations and library ordinals (#1709) * fix(native): honor Mach-O chained pointer locations and library ordinals Walk declared page starts and next links before decoding chained pointers, preserving plain pointers between fixups, zero-offset rebases, and known facts in malformed chains. Interpret positive dylib ordinals with dyld's special-ordinal cutoff so valid dependency provenance is retained. Give the Swift verification fixture an explicit module name so link-mode filenames do not produce invalid identifiers. Validation: 46 focused regressions; pre-fix reproductions in an isolated copy; real macOS CLI/MCP verification of 10 compiled Objective-C/Swift, arm64/arm64e, chained/legacy and symbols/stripped fixture variants. * perf(native): reuse parsed Mach-O chain membership * test(native): validate parsed-chain repair against local gates * test(native): pin chained fixup page failure provenance * fix(native): bound parsed chained page facts and metadata * test(server): pin shared partial Evidence provenance --------- Co-authored-by: baron --- scripts/verify/apple/dispatch.mjs | 2 + src/native/AppleDispatchMetadata.test.ts | 34 + src/native/AppleMachoFixups.test.ts | 584 +++++++++++++++++- src/native/AppleMachoFixups.ts | 253 +++++++- .../mcp/targetContentFramingMcp.test.ts | 126 +++- 5 files changed, 957 insertions(+), 42 deletions(-) diff --git a/scripts/verify/apple/dispatch.mjs b/scripts/verify/apple/dispatch.mjs index 4ac861b299..2378ae3359 100644 --- a/scripts/verify/apple/dispatch.mjs +++ b/scripts/verify/apple/dispatch.mjs @@ -236,6 +236,8 @@ try { await exec("/usr/bin/xcrun", [ "swiftc", "-emit-library", + "-module-name", + "ReaWitnessFixture", "-O", ...mode.flags .map((flag) => flag.replace(/^-Wl,/u, "-Xlinker\0")) diff --git a/src/native/AppleDispatchMetadata.test.ts b/src/native/AppleDispatchMetadata.test.ts index 927d984950..6791ba1b0b 100644 --- a/src/native/AppleDispatchMetadata.test.ts +++ b/src/native/AppleDispatchMetadata.test.ts @@ -89,6 +89,40 @@ const fixture = (relative = false) => { return bytes; }; const provenance = { path: "/fixture/app", sha256: "a".repeat(64) }; +describe("chained Apple dispatch binary metadata", () => { + it("keeps absolute metadata pointers between declared chained fixups", () => { + const bytes = fixture(); + bytes.writeUInt32LE(2, 16); + bytes.writeUInt32LE(168, 20); + bytes.writeUInt32LE(0x80000034, 184); + bytes.writeUInt32LE(16, 188); + bytes.writeUInt32LE(0xa00, 192); + bytes.writeUInt32LE(64, 196); + // Only the class-list pointer needs rebasing.
