Use the shared command supervisor for installation probes and retain exact
process cleanup owners through doctor, profile resolution, and session health.
Preserve exit status, bounded captured output, cancellation reasons, and live
cleanup facts. Block subsequent inspection until retained cleanup is retried.
Generalize the existing inspection resource scope and migrate its consumers,
including verifier scripts; remove the verifier's duplicate raw version probe.
Validation: 116 distinct focused tests passed, including built CLI doctor with
inherited output, cancellation/finalization, cleanup retry, and fake-provider
verifier workflows. Build, check:fast, and test discovery passed. No real Kuna
distribution or analysis target was executed.
Synthetic Darwin inspection timing: first-call median 707ms versus 5.79ms;
same-process repeat 37.9ms versus 3.08ms. First use includes ownership-helper
preparation. Family CPU and actual peak family memory remain unmeasured.
Fixes#5557
Share exact command/helper cleanup adoption across Java probes. Preserve complete live resource labels and explicit unknowns through inspection leases, and retain unresolved ownership when a cleanup capability is unavailable.
Validation: focused cleanup, provider/doctor and Kuna consumer checks; shared Ghidra lifecycle and public doctor regressions. Native Windows/Linux provider behavior remains unverified.
Allow independently bounded Darwin helper compilation to finish before the five-second Java deadline starts. Keep Linux process-table preparation under command supervision.
Share preparation failure translation between both stages so physical compiler outcomes, exact cancellation reasons and cleanup capabilities retain one owner. Adapt contributor PR #4795 and extend preparation handoff and retry controls.

Replace synchronous Java execution with bounded owned commands. Keep task-scoped readiness observations fresh across later tasks, defer target client prerequisites behind a closeable owner, and join doctor cancellation and cleanup.
Preserve completed physical failures across late cancellation, exact cleanup dependencies and partial observations. Admit target/profile inputs before probing and return typed factory failures instead of unavailable client wrappers.
Validation: 405 focused tests across 24 files, 2 explicit skips; 109 provider/doctor controls rerun after final admission refinement; check:fast and docs:check. Controlled macOS Java-shaped commands and public CLI/MCP workflows; no new JVM/Ghidra or Windows/Linux lifecycle verification.
Measured warm public doctor baseline/candidate: elapsed 0.447/1.223s, CPU 0.624/1.237s, sampled family RSS 379/529MB, reply tokens 3133/3133. Ownership adds cost; no performance improvement claimed. True cold, whole-agent and MCP costs unmeasured.
Refs #4561. Remaining installation file admission tracked in #4672.
Replace ambiguous absent observations with an owning Result producer for
Java prerequisite probes. Preserve missing-command, runtime-failure and
unresolved-property outcomes, process error codes, both bounded streams,
raw byte counts and partial properties through provider and doctor adapters.
Reject malformed numeric-prefix versions while retaining their source facts.
Migrate all injected hosts to the named probe contract and remove the old
parser/observation ownership from installation discovery.
Validation: 17 focused files, 350 passed; npm run check passed. Public doctor
fixtures distinguish absent/nonzero/malformed commands. Real installed JDK
and Ghidra readiness facts matched across 20 baseline/candidate CLI tasks.
Warm repeat raw replies6392tokens each, elapsed .448/.444s, CPU .662/.660s;
sampled family memory varied and reversed direction on repeat. No causal
performance improvement claim, true-cold or full-agent/fault-path measurement.
Synchronous probe deadline/cancellation/family cleanup remains #4561 and needs
coordinated discovery/admission supervision; no claim that it is fixed here.
No real failing JVM or Windows runtime verification performed.
