Retain one pending intermediate observation and drop stale live status before terminal cleanup. Preserve monotonic counts and final delivery while an observer is slow or rejects an update.
Verify the send rate at its controlled-clock owner and lifecycle notification density at the CLI/MCP boundary, where receive timestamps include buffering and scheduling.
Long captures emitted only a final result, so a quiet child looked idle.
Pass the shared rate-limited progress reporter through the capture lifecycle
and report the observed phase, elapsed time, and collected-unit counts.
CLI writes those lines to stderr; MCP forwards them only when the client
supplied a progress token. Final Evidence on stdout keeps its shape.
Keep caller-selected replacement text literal with a callback, preserving
empty-search positions instead of changing their split/join behavior.
Commit the replacement interpretation for captures using custom patterns so
legacy records cannot report this producer correction as a target change.
BREAKING CHANGE: Captures with custom normalization patterns use
literal-replacements-v1 and cannot be compared with legacy unversioned
pattern captures. Capture both sides with the same replacement semantics;
legacy captures remain readable and captures without patterns are unaffected.
Rendered frames padded every visible row with trailing spaces to the
terminal width. Blank rows cost a full row each and every frame repeats
them, so the padding made up 14-39% of capture Evidence (2 KB of sparse
output produced 228 KB). The padding carried no information: columns is
recorded and serialized_state keeps the exact terminal state.
Lines are now trimmed after normalization, so line.padEnd(columns)
restores the previous value. The comparison contract commits
rendered_line_format so older padded captures do not compare as the
same contract.

* fix(javascript): decline source-map UNC references with an unusable host
A source map can name a Windows share whose host a file URL cannot carry,
such as `\\bad host\share\a.js`. On the Node builds `engines` admits,
`pathToFileURL(path, { windows: true })` fails a native assertion and calls
`abort()` on Node 22.19-22.22, 24.11-24.15 and 26.0, so the process dies
with exit 134 instead of declining the reference. Node 22.23 and 24.16 raise
`ERR_INVALID_URL` instead, and older builds silently drop the host, so the
same reference resolves three different ways depending on the runtime.
Validate the UNC host before handing the path to Node. A host carrying a
forbidden host code point, a percent escape or nothing at all now resolves as
`unresolved` on every admitted build, and `npm test` passes the existing
`\\bad host\share\a.js` row everywhere. Well-formed UNC hosts and
drive-letter paths are untouched.
* fix(javascript): validate UNC hosts through IDNA before conversion
Reject Unicode source-map UNC hosts that URL/IDNA processing cannot use or normalizes to an empty hostname before calling Windows pathToFileURL. Keep the original source identity and preserve usable normalized hosts.
Exercise the built reference resolver in owned subprocesses, including U+00AD and U+200C as source names and source roots. The original PR implementation aborts under Node 22.22.2; the new regression isolates those signals from the test runner. Add this test to the existing Node 22 Windows CI step.
Validation: 64 focused tests pass on Node 22.22.2 and 24.18.0; npm run check and test discovery pass. Local verification ran on macOS; Windows verification remains with CI.

BREAKING CHANGE: Filesystem digest omission entries now require system_code; budget and changed-file omissions use null, and unavailable-file omissions preserve the operating-system error code.
Remove forwarding wrappers and shadow aliases, migrate callers and verification scripts to their owners, and share one exhaustive semantic resource-bound projection.
Require process retention accounting, browser network transaction identity, and all web comparison dimensions. Remove obsolete omission repairs and derive completeness from the owning producer facts.
BREAKING CHANGE: Historical captures without current producer accounting or transaction identity, and web diffs missing accessibility or storage dimensions, are rejected.
parseProcessCapture accepted terminal retention accounting that its
retained frames contradict: any retained_bytes within budget, and
observed_bytes above retained_bytes with no omitted frame. A malformed
capture could therefore report truncated: false while its terminal
evidence was incomplete. Recompute retained raw and rendered bytes from
the frames, and require equal observed and retained bytes when no frame
was omitted.

Contextual port normalization refused any port followed by a period, so
common log lines such as "Listening on port: 8080." or
"http://localhost:8080." kept their run-specific port and equivalent
captures compared as changed. Accept a sentence-ending period while
still refusing a period that continues a decimal, version, or host name,
and bump the committed port-normalization version.

Deliver complete Evidence directly through MCP with required nullable analysis profiles and immutable per-server delivery settings. Bind selected environments at construction and require typed cleanup outcomes with retained retry ownership.
Remove test-only routing, duplicate session and snapshot metadata, producer-field repairs, and ambiguous provider arguments. Separate artifact byte identity from occurrence classification and retain typed source-map and partial native facts across CLI, MCP, and verifier consumers.
BREAKING CHANGE: obsolete Evidence envelopes, session aliases, incomplete snapshots, and missing normalized producer facts are no longer accepted.
Remove v3 capture conversion and require explicit executable identity and event journals. Preserve cancellation, execution diagnostics, snapshots, and cleanup outcomes from preparation through CLI delivery.
Separate exhausted path enumeration from hash coverage and preserve known
effects outside incomplete roots or unfollowed symlink subtrees. Return
explicit unknown effects through capture Evidence and comparison workflows.

* fix: Handle relayed SIGINT gracefully in withProcessCancellation
Changes `process.once` to `process.on` for SIGINT in `DirectAnalysis.ts`.
When REA is launched via npx, a single process-group SIGINT triggers two
SIGINT events (one direct, one relayed). Previously, the first event would
consume the handler and the second would abruptly terminate the Node process,
abandoning Ghidra resource cleanup.
This change ensures subsequent SIGINTs idempotently request cancellation
without crashing the process, matching the behaviour of `withCommandCancellation`.
* fix(cli): keep termination guards through provider cleanup
* test(cli): exercise repeated analysis signals on macOS

Cancelling the macOS process-ownership helper build left swiftc object files
in TMPDIR. Node's execFile sends SIGTERM on abort and rejects before the
child exits, and swift-driver runs each frontend job in its own process
group: on SIGTERM the driver exits while a job keeps writing, so REA removed
its root while objects were still being written outside and inside it.
Add an opt-in `stopSignal` to execFileOutput that stops the process with the
caller's signal on abort or timeout and settles only after it exits. Swift
helper builds stop swiftc with SIGINT, on which swift-driver stops its jobs
and deletes their objects, and point TMPDIR inside the root cleanup removes.
