* fix(setup): report host-owned cleanup resources alongside the primary's
SetupHost.close documents that it reports the resources a setup host still
owns, but its contract returned only a string. runSetup therefore built the
ProviderCleanupError from the primary failure's cleanupResources alone, so a
resource the host failed to release reached the projection only inside a
free-text reason while the error asks the caller to review the reported local
resources.
Return a SetupCloseReport instead. closeSetupResources absorbs the structured
resources of any cause that reports them, through
ArtifactReaderFailure.cleanupObservation, and leaves opaque failures
message-only so no resource name is invented. runSetup then unions the host's
resources with the primary's before building the typed cleanup error.
Two boundary tests read the close result directly: the skill-cleanup case now
asserts the retained backup path in the report reason rather than in a bare
string, and the shared ownership helper takes an opaque close result because it
only ever awaits undefined from either host it is given.
Validation: RED then green in src/application/Setup.recovery.test.ts, where
the new case previously received only the primary resource; 116 tests across
the seven Setup and cleanup-ownership suites pass; tsc --noEmit over the
changed set, its setup callers, and both boundary tests exits 0; oxlint
reports 0 errors; oxfmt --check is clean; verify:module-boundaries passes.
The two failures in src/setupEnvironment.test.ts reproduce identically on
pristine bded9c628 with this change stashed.

Parse declarations before selecting values, admit safe integers once, and retain bounded raw numeric issues. Preserve display and package selection policies while distinguishing absent and malformed values.
Keep completed display facts in typed physical-size failures, share the existing diagnostic sample limit, and verify real CLI/MCP contracts with a strict fake ADB.
Reuse the shared one-shot finalizer for discovery and instrumentation, preserve finalization cancellation with completed observations, and bind Frida cleanup errors to exact owners so confirmed retry recovers the primary error.
BREAKING CHANGE: instrument-with-frida JSON now returns the canonical Evidence record directly. Read normalized_result.cleanup_error instead of the earlier top-level cleanup_error wrapper field.
Distinguish CDP session detachment, observed crashes, and transport loss. Preserve the observed window alongside the original typed coverage-stop failure and unconfirmed cleanup.
Validated with 40 focused boundary tests, check:ci, docs:check, and the real Chrome public CLI/MCP verifier on macOS. Browser timing comparison remains incomplete because unchanged-main fixture readiness was intermittent.
Fixes#5756
Run inert captured-script analysis in owned children with per-script and aggregate deadlines, bounded source/result transfer and explicit per-script coverage. Preserve completed facts and exact cleanup authority across cancellation, mixed descriptor/process failures and cross-consumer retry.
Share aggregate source admission across page and Electron capture, expose CLI/MCP resource controls and retain selected parameters in Evidence. Verified with controlled CDP public workflows, real owned Node failure controls and the reporter-matching ReactDOM UMD artifact; real Chrome/Electron and Windows/Bun remain unqualified.
Give the typed error owner a separate retained secondary-failure collection. Preserve exact direct causes, including caller cancellation reasons and absent causes, while keeping existing diagnostic and live cleanup ownership projections.
Fixes#5059
Consume the named inventory observation once and compare typed facts through one final cancellation check. Retain measured or completed load-image facts and exact reasons, preserve source partials and cleanup, and remove duplicate interpretation and format-specific abort guards.
Validation: 131 contract/projection checks, 40 selected provider checks, and 24 selected private-file/socket lifecycle checks pass; typecheck, lint and builds pass. Includes the original confirmed descriptor-close boundary and late result consumption. Tiny authored fixtures and simulated installation/engine facts; no real Ghidra, investigated target or heavy profiling.
Equivalent completed DOS/raw/NativeAOT tasks retain byte-identical full replies and one source read. First processes and two alternating warm repeats; no statistically established performance improvement.
Fixes#3977
Replace the private promise race with a named snapshot owner using SharedStartupAttempt. Keep peers independent, stop and join final departure, preserve source failures and completed facts through draining waits, and fence replacement behind retained cleanup. Close joins derivation before releasing the underlying client.
Validation: 31 selected simulated-provider lifecycle and NativeAOT checks, 80 shared-contract/schema/projection checks, typecheck, lint and builds. Completed tiny summary/detail/close comparison preserves full replies and one snapshot read. No real Ghidra, investigated target or heavy profiler execution.
Refs #4753
Use the shared artifact resource scope for snapshot reads. Preserve completed facts, exact cancellation reasons and descriptor cleanup leases through session and public error projection; keep parent cleanup pending until all retained resources release.
Validation: 22 selected snapshot lifecycle checks and 85 contract, projection and bounded-reader checks; typecheck, lint and runtime builds. Uses small authored Node/socket fixtures, not real Ghidra or investigated target execution.
Refs #4752, #3977
Bind signature inspection to its named domain result and retain completed facts in typed cancellation. Check cancellation after descriptor and root finalization, preserve exact caller reasons, and keep physical failures primary. Use explicit cancellation checkpoints instead of signal-state guesses.
Validate root and descriptor cleanup, retries, late root handoff, opaque reasons, provider projections, and existing real codesign/CLI controls. No real OS close-failure or Windows qualification.
Refs #4735
Retain the primary error through cleanup composition and resolve its presentation only after live ownership confirms release. Preserve historical diagnostics separately from producer facts.
Validate domain primary types, nested owners, denied retry and late observations; exercise public CLI and MCP projection plus firmware descriptor retry. Focused tests, source controls, static checks and docs pass. Native providers were not verified.

Own admitted descriptors through final close, retain exact failed owners, and preserve physical read failures and cancellation reasons. Track stream coverage independently from delivered bytes and share the boundary across archive, Mach-O, hashing, and output readback consumers.
* fix(application): retain completed evidence through cancellation
Validate completed provider reports before classifying cancellation and preserve Evidence and captured diagnostics. Share MCP recording and delivery across custom observation handlers. Add source-owned completion and public SDK recording controls. Refs #3923, #3927, #4261.

Refs #4261
Evaluate stdout and stderr together, giving hard errors and non-ok wait statuses precedence over an attempted Starting line. Retain raw streams and typed partial launch facts when Activity Manager refuses or times out; retain successful raw output too.
Validation: parser/provider tests and public MCP app/activity starts through a fake executable at the real process boundary. Real Android device behavior was not verified; device-reported timeout remains distinct from a host deadline.
Fixes#2225
* fix(native): retain failed pwntools process and runtime cleanup
Keep failed worker/debugger cleanup owners and their private files until
verified process shutdown and successful directory removal. Retry cleanup
before another inspection and expose shutdown through the shared services,
CLI and MCP server. Serialize acquisition without delaying cancellation of
queued callers, and preserve primary diagnostics when CLI cleanup fails.
The original decoder reproduction left a live owned Node child with its
runtime deleted and no retained cleanup owner; the regression now verifies
retention, admission blocking, retries and eventual process/file cleanup.
Validation: 10 lifecycle/public CLI/MCP tests, 20 service tests, test
discovery 814/814, build:cached and full check including architecture guards.
Actual POSIX process/filesystem boundaries used injected Node workers on
macOS; real Linux pwntools/GDB provider parsing was not exercised.

* fix: bind identity and coverage to the producing rule
Logical paths, container families, examined bytes, path-segment conventions, destination collisions, file-id leases, Mach-O CPU selection, and firmware cleanup now follow the observation that owns each rule.
* fix: fail unmatched Mach-O slices and keep firmware roots independent
A fat target whose architecture lipo did not list now stops before slice tools run. Chained fixups still count unread LC_DYLD_INFO rebase bytes, and a firmware cleanup failure no longer blocks the next workspace.
* test: cover path identity and runtime families at the projection boundary
NFC joins and segment conventions are now asserted by the path resolver, the Apple projection, and a real APK inventory instead of helper unit tests.
* test: expect unread dyld rebase bytes in the Apple dispatch fixture
The legacy LC_DYLD_INFO fixture keeps a rebase range this reader does not decode, so the public CLI and MCP check now requires that partial coverage beside the bind opcodes.
