* fix(browser): name web-bundle budgets and recover web deadlines
Name the existing heap, per-script, and total web-bundle phases, and reject a per-script deadline above the total. Promote capture, CDP command, source-map decode, and source-map fetch deadlines at today's defaults. Name DevTools timeoutMs, and state that discovery, cleanup grace, byte budgets, and Electron hook retention have no runtime override.

* fix(browser): apply selected web deadlines to the owning phase
Keep HTTP and browser-socket discovery on the fixed discovery deadline so a
short command_timeout_ms starts at the handshake. Apply scenario
command_timeout_ms to launch startup and the primary connect session, and
keep service-worker restoration on the fixed 5000 ms grace. Omit
command_timeout_ms from recovery text when the operation does not accept it.

* fix(browser): retain scenario commands that finish after their deadline
A timed-out scenario command stays owned so cleanup can close a late
browser or context and restore a mutation that lands after the deadline.
Child storage replies use that deadline, scenario recovery names
command_timeout_ms in the capture JSON, and the session test connection
implements beginCleanupGrace.

* fix(browser): keep child command timeouts as the public failure
A nested command such as Page.enable that is delivered but never answered
was stored as protocol_error, hiding the command name, selected deadline,
and recovery. Store the typed timeout and assert that public error.

* fix(browser): keep runtime cleanup on the fixed grace
Switch runtime restoration to the cleanup grace before the first send so a
short command_timeout_ms cannot fail an otherwise successful observation.
Stop advertising command_timeout_ms on list_browser_targets, which never
bounds a post-discovery command.

* test(browser): prove a short command deadline cannot fail runtime cleanup
Drive restoration through the runtime fixture. A cleanup command that
outlives command_timeout_ms still succeeds, and a stalled restoration
names the fixed 5000 ms grace.

* fix(browser): name the effective source-map decode deadline
codecBudgetLimitation reported a fixed 20-second deadline after a
caller selected decode_timeout_ms. Result and Evidence limitations
now name that effective millisecond deadline.
Co-authored-by: morluto <morluto@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(browser): separate handshake and target-attach deadlines
A browser-level Target.attachToTarget no longer shares the WebSocket
handshake budget. Blocked service-worker attachment keeps discovery on
its fixed deadline and applies command_timeout_ms to the later handshake
and attach.

* fix(browser): name the web-bundle resource each runtime exhausts
Bun ignores the V8 old-space flag. A Windows Job reports the process
commit limit, and other Bun hosts no longer suggest raising max_heap_mb.
Co-authored-by: morluto <morluto@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(browser): cite the browser-socket discovery message budget
WebSocket discovery enforces the 64 MiB protocol budget. Timeout
recovery no longer advertises the 8 MiB HTTP document budget.
Co-authored-by: morluto <morluto@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(browser): bound the blocked service-worker check before discovery
The first registration check has its own fixed 10s deadline. Discovery,
handshake, and Target.attachToTarget stay on their separate deadlines.
Co-authored-by: morluto <morluto@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(browser): name the operand that stopped web-bundle admission
Host heap pressure no longer claims the fixed result budget is exhausted.
A Windows Bun allocation before the commit limit still names that limit.

Source-map original-source parsing reported `import type X = require("m")`
as a require dependency, although TypeScript erases the declaration. The
fetcher re-derived import-equals targets instead of using the existing
value-only rule. That rule now lives with the other type-only module
declaration predicates in javascriptModuleDeclaration, and the fetcher,
static analysis, and semantic analysis all use it.

Captured-bundle chunk edges and source-map original module edges only
accepted quoted string literals as import()/require() specifiers. Bundlers
such as rolldown emit plain constants as expression-free template literals
(import(`./chunk.js`)), so statically known dependencies were dropped while
completeness stayed complete. Read both sites through the shared exact-literal
reader (stringValue); template literals with substitutions stay unrecognized.
On OWASP Juice Shop v20.3.0 this recovers 8 lazy chunk edges (previously 0).

ECMA-426 DecodeSourceMapSources reads a content slot only while its index
is within sourcesContent, so a shorter array leaves trailing sources
without content and a longer array adds no sources. Local application
analysis and browser collection rejected any length mismatch and dropped
every original from the map.
The content helper now checks only entry types. Browser collection drops
its separate check because the leaf schema already validates every
supplied entry, and the raw records are still budgeted before parsing.
Fixes#2821
Replace stale closed-property expectations with assertions for the evidence under test. Verify compiler coordinates and declaration indices separately in the real-browser workflow.
Consolidate duplicate 50000-map admission cases and derive admission from exact serialized bytes rather than IP-address-specific output shapes. Retain capacity, omission, and aggregate-byte coverage. A bounded Flameox CPU profile completed in about 1.4 seconds and showed no producer bottleneck; targeted admission and real Chrome CLI/MCP verification pass.
Accept absent map-level sourcesContent and preserve null source-name slots alongside known originals and aligned content. Represent unnamed local declarations explicitly, retain leaf-local and flattened indices, and preserve declared indexed-section order across consumers.
Account for added indices before browser output allocation. Accept legacy retained rows without indices. Consolidate public CLI/MCP source-map fixtures and update the stale named-source-only assertion.
BREAKING CHANGE: Browser source-map original and mapping rows expose null for unavailable source names instead of inventing an unknown-source string. New index fields are optional when reading older retained evidence.

Share the ECMA-426 JSON parse view across fetched maps and local point tracing while retaining exact response text, bytes, and digest. Handle BOM and HTTP newline variants without treating unterminated prefixes as valid JSON.
Validation: 89 source-map tests passed; source/runtime build and check:fast passed. Real Chrome 154 CLI and stdio MCP browser verification passed on macOS ARM64.
* test(browser): pin DOM and source-map URL policy classifications
Cover the unsupported DOM scope, credentialed destinations, and the source-map fetcher's pre-request filtering of credentials, other origins and non-http(s) URLs, so a later vocabulary unification can show exactly what changes.

* fix(browser): recover source-map dependencies from decorated and aliased sources
Discarding a source's edges whenever it had parse errors cost more than it
protected. parseJavaScriptSource only enabled jsx and typescript, so a
decorated TypeScript source did not parse at all and contributed no edges at
all, even for the imports Babel could otherwise have read. That is the common
shape for the bundles this boundary inspects. "decorators-legacy" is enabled
instead of "decorators" because the standard form still rejects parameter
decorators such as constructor(@Inject() private s: S), which is the Angular
and Nest dependency-injection shape.
import x = require("m") parses cleanly but is a TSImportEqualsDeclaration
rather than a call expression, so it contributed no edge. It is now read as a
require dependency. It is only legal at module top level and always refers to
the host loader, so it needs no unbound-require check; the local-alias form
imports an entity name and still declares nothing.
A source whose syntax could not be recovered now yields status "partial" with
a limitation naming the affected sources, instead of an included item whose
empty edge list was indistinguishable from a source that genuinely imports
nothing. Edges that did parse are retained and the caller is told the list is
a subset, which matches how the static and semantic analysers already report
recovered syntax.
The source-map item status union gains "partial" and the coverage rollup now
counts it as retained, so a collection of only-partial items reports partial
rather than unavailable.
* Merge main into fix(browser): derive source-map imports from syntax nodes
Resolve the generated-file conflicts by taking main's generated output and
regenerating from the merged source contracts, rather than merging generated
text by hand.
