## 🏁 EVERY NAMED BLOCKER IS CLOSED — none was a compiler wall
3 byte-identical stragglers (410) · `func_80151944` 138 (family `0x80131eec` fully closed, 288) ·
`func_801457A4` 133 · `0x80174784` 251 · `0x80161c98` 138 · `func_801599A4` 137.
Causes: a symbol spelled from the wrong side · a signedness-wrong header decl · a type-name collision ·
a missing extern for a macro-defined callee · a flag combination · a file placement.
## ▶ THE DECISION THAT COMES FIRST (Drew's gate-2 call)
**The mechanical family engine is spent — measured, not felt.** Residue = **80 families / 960 members
/ 173 distinct**, and it splits cleanly:
- **29 all-STRUCT families / 86 members** — refused at remap **by design** (register drift). Only
per-member drafting cracks them.
- **51 no-STRUCT families / 874 members / ~150 distinct** — stage fine, fail the gate; **the last three
blast sweeps returned 0** with every lever this phase built applied. ~51 independent diagnoses at
**~3 distinct each**.
For scale: **2,713 banked today vs 173 distinct left.** SESSION-24 said "do not close P29 on ROI" and
was right then; the data now supports asking. Unphased work that is real: the **39 un-onboarded type-1
modules** (in no phase) and the **owed roadmap re-baseline**.
**If P29 continues instead:** probe the 51 individually (one `rtu_match` per family, recipe below),
expecting a new cause each time; the `-O0` cluster stays **WALLED** (Arm-A splat `%lo` +0x20).
## 🔧 TOOL NOTE (cost three probes today)
`rtu_match` prints `CC1 FAIL` but **its stdout does not contain the error**; warnings drown it. Use:
```
python3 tools/rtu_match.py <fn> --split <split> --c <draft> --source <ov> --stderr-out /tmp/e.txt
grep -v "warning:" /tmp/e.txt | grep -vE "In function|At top level|^###|^\s*$"
```
## ⚠️ MY ERRORS THIS SESSION (recorded, not buried)
- **§116 written with the wrong fix, tool built before testing** — refuted in 56s.
- **Predicted `func_801599A4` would bank** while the disqualifying `diff_class: IMM` sat in a table I
printed myself (the T76 shape, in the session where I cited T76).
- **Promoted a backlog item as "126 entries"; it was 8** — no still-a-stub filter.
- **Mis-attributed T84's 137 banks** (`0x80161c98` → really `func_80146750`); committed wrong in
`commit:1193`, corrected in `commit:1198`.
- **T92 recorded a wrong recipe + a phantom second blocker** — artifacts of my own bad fix
(corrected in `commit:1204`).
- **Patched the wrong one of three identical staging sites, twice**, then judged a lever ineffective
from a patch that never ran (§120: prove it RAN).
- **Costed T97 as a 3-part job over 2,022 decls; it was one 4-line edit** — read the symptom instead
of probing the failure.
- Behind nearly all of them: **asserting the composition of a number, or the effect of a change, that
I did not derive.** Standing fixes: derive attribution from `corpus.stubs` before/after · diff the
artifact to prove an edit took effect · **probe one member before COSTING a job**.
## ⚠️ CARRIED DEFECTS
21-file absolute-include portability defect · **`docs/backlog.md` is not a work queue** (§83) ·
roadmap re-baseline owed (39 type-1 modules in no phase) · `gate_stage` ladder destroys good drafts;
bare gate has no snapshot/restore · `.run/autopsy/residuals.jsonl` stale (Jul 21) ·
**`--fix-def-sig` is a REPAIR, not a default** (T84/§119).
## 📓 NEW COOKBOOK ENTRIES THIS SESSION
**§116** · **§117** · **§118** · **§119** · **§120** · **§121** (see the entries for each).
