**THE PATTERN, across five independent arrangements: any source change that relocates
`z0 = ent->z` LATER costs exactly +1 instruction, every time — while the target issues it late at
ZERO cost.** ⇒ The target's late placement is not expressible in source: it is produced by the
SCHEDULER from a source in which the load is EARLY (which is what my draft already has). So the load
must STAY early in source and only the search can move it. That closes the question — this block is
search-only, and further reader time on statement order here is provably wasted.
- **📏 2026-07-24 (SESSION-18) — the profile round-robin, MEASURED both ways.** Different profile from a
converged seed ⇒ ~2 each (REGALLOC 16→14, SCHEDULE 14→12, cse 12→10). **Repeated profile ⇒ nothing:**
REGALLOC round-2, warm-started from close=9 (a seed it had never seen), was **flat all 10 cycles, 0
gain**. The lever is **profile diversity, not seed novelty** — budget three passes per giant, then
stop. Cookbook **§66d-4** (amends §66d-3's "measured permuter floor", which SESSION-17 applied to all
four giants and which is now shown to be profile-relative, not absolute).
