+### THE HEADLINE: "32 free banks" was 0/28, then 8 — and the difference is ONE MISSING LEVER
+S68's checkpoint advertised 32 free banks, 10 of them personally verified with `match_one` at
+closeness 0. Measured today:
+* **4 had already banked** since the checkpoint was written (stale by construction).
+* The other **28 gated 0/28.** Every failure was a DECLARATION conflict inside the real TU —
+  `conflicting types for X`, `too few arguments to X` — never a codegen miss.
+* `match_one` compiles the draft ALONE. **A standalone closeness of 0 proves the BODY and says
+  nothing about the TU accepting the SIGNATURE** (cookbook **§376**).

+### THE TRIAGE LADDER IS BUILT, WIRED AND ACCEPTANCE-GREEN (`tools/triage_ladder.py`)

+  S68's spec conflated them; only the PRE tiers can fire at DRAW time, and they are the ones that
+  save a whole agent rather than one iteration.
+* `--escalate B:FN` exits 2 on a walled/banked target — the check S68 lacked when it escalated a
+  §332 wall to Fable at closeness 8. `escalate_fable.js` now REFUSES a target without `triage:'DRAFT'`.
+* `wave_args` drops walled/parked targets at draw time via `pre_classify` (one implementation, R33).
+* **It refuses on a non-quiescent tree.** A merging gate makes the stub oracle wrong in BOTH

+### FOUR HARNESS DEFECTS, ALL THE SAME SHAPE: A CONFIDENT NUMBER ABOUT A SMALLER WORLD
+1. **`fix_arity_callers` was blind to `main`** — globbed `src/main/main*.c`; main is `src/*.c`. It
+   reported success over an EMPTY file set through three gates. Now refuses when `--binary` selects
+   no files.
+2. **`pgrep -c` returned a false ZERO twice** for a live process. Acting on it, I tore down a running
+   gate's worktrees and started a second concurrent gate. **Read the rows, never the count.**
+3. **The verdict layer died with the worktree.** `harvest_verify` writes its per-function
+   `.classified.txt` into the worktree's own `.run/`, which is not symlinked; those rows survived
+   only as a side effect of gater_lane re-running the binary in-tree. `parallel_gate` now copies them
+   out (R47).
+4. **My own first fix for #3 was INERT and I reported it as landed.** I parsed `failed by class:`
+   from the worker's stdout, but the worker is `gate_stage`, which never prints it. `classes` was
+   empty for all 17 binaries and the retry gate fired zero times. Now derived from the artifact the
+   tool actually writes, and **verified live** before claiming it again.

+1. **The CALLEE-CHAIN lane, 9 functions, mechanical**: parse the symbol out of each verdict in

+   symbol, re-gate. Worth a small driver — the parse is one regex over rows the gate already writes.
