## ▶ RESUME HERE
1. **The crack wave — the only lever that moves the %.** 1,168 seeded targets in the big-3.
**Regenerate `wave_snapshot` FIRST** — 29 functions and +2,877 instances landed this session, so
the S45 target pool is stale, and a stale list burns a whole wave (S45's own lesson).
Route by SIZE (§157): **Haiku ≤30 ins (86% bank), Sonnet ≥50 (Haiku drops to 20% at 4× cost)**;
local v3 for the ≤15 tail. Carve `main` out of bulk sweeps (1,061 sub-25 stubs, barren, ×1).
**Read wave args FROM THE FILE — never hand-type them** (that cost a 50-agent wave in S45).
⚠️ Needs Drew's opt-in before any agent fan-out (R26/R27): prompt for `/effort ultracode`, WAIT
for the toggle, and prompt back to Max for synthesis.
2. **The two serial stretches now dominating propagation wall-clock** (neither is a build):
~3 min `registered_addrs()` yaml-parsing a 1,949-group / 249k-instance registry + 213 sig loads
(cacheable), and ~2.5 min of sequential `reconcile_caller_extern`. Cheap, well-scoped wins.
3. **The effort/model experiment Drew raised** (design in the S46 log below): a 3-way on ONE target
list in the ≥50-ins band — Sonnet-default vs Fable-low vs Opus-default — with a **positive
control that the effort knob actually moved** (compare per-agent token burn between arms).
Without that control, a null result is indistinguishable from the override silently no-opping.
⚠️ Drew believes Workflow agents INHERIT session effort and that only `model` is settable;
my tool docs + `docs/effort-map.md` (Phase 20) say `opts.effort` overrides. **Unmeasured — treat
as open, and design the test so the disagreement resolves itself.**
## ✅ WHAT THIS SESSION LANDED (4 commits, all gate-verified)
- `commit:1532` **the S45p9 blocker closed** — but the honest finding first: the failure does NOT
reproduce at HEAD, so the fix is *instrumentation*, not a repair. `apply_plan` no longer silently
skips an unplaceable site (R32 gaps + per-site diagnosis), `find_site`'s `'stub'` verdict is
honoured (a stub whose asm-subdir ≠ its file stem was invisible), and every abort restores kept
reconciles AND diffs the worktree to PROVE it (the §156 class, different path). NC-proven.
- `commit:1533` **the master IDXTAB/DESTPTR load map** (Drew's idea) — `tools/idxtab_map.py`,
controls-gated; 213 binaries → 143 with a table (294), 141 destinations. The blocker was our own
tracker: blind to gcc's indexed global-array read (`lui`/`addu`/`lh lo(base)`), so both tables
returned ZERO references. **Corrects §S45 p6** (the SC03 trio is NOT ov_SC03_001's — that table is
identical in all 141 overlays) and **records what it CANNOT do**: absence ≠ dead code, since
byte-proved loaders are absent from this route too. → `docs/idxtab-map.md`, cookbook §155c.
- `commit:1534` **the bank**: 29 functions ×N = **+2,815 member instances**, R22 213/213.
- `commit:1535` **the propagation parallelised**: 24 min → 11.4 min AND **+62 more instances** (the old
necessity probe was over-excluding). Threads → PROCESSES was the fix; my thread version measured
0–4 builds at load 3. → `docs/accelerators.md` A8, memory `fleet-tool-parallelism-defaults`.
- **NEW (Drew, standing): `docs/accelerators.md`** — the reusable-workflow ledger. Every late
discovery that would have accelerated earlier work, with when we found it, when it WAS findable,
what it cost, and the honest PREREQ where one exists. A1–A8 seeded. Memory
`decomp-accelerator-ledger`.
## 🧰 MY ERROR LEDGER THIS SESSION (2)
1. **Built #3 on threads** for GIL-bound work — refuted by the box in one sampling pass, not by
reasoning. Cost ~10 min of a wasted run.
2. **Left the cookbook index stale** after appending §155c — `tools-health` exited 1 and caught it.
The gate did its job; I should have regenerated it in the same edit.
Both are the same shape as the S45 ledger's root cause: *asserting a mechanism I had not derived.*
The R37 candidate still stands for T5.
