Some thread flags can be set remotely, and so even when IRQs are disabled, the flags can change under our feet. Generally this is unlikely to cause a problem in practice, but it is somewhat unsound, and KCSAN will legitimately warn that there is a data race. To avoid such issues, a snapshot of the flags has to be taken prior to using them. Some places already use READ_ONCE() for that, others do not. Convert them all to the new flag accessor helpers. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
