As of commit457e20d659("mlxsw: spectrum_switchdev: Avoid returning errors in commit phase"), the mlxsw driver performs the VLAN object offloading during the prepare phase. So conversion just seems to be a matter of removing the code that was running in the commit phase. Ido Schimmel explains that the reason why mlxsw_sp_span_respin is called unconditionally is because the bridge driver will ignore -EOPNOTSUPP and actually add the VLAN on the bridge device - see commit9c86ce2c1a("net: bridge: Notify about bridge VLANs") and commitea47217519("mlxsw: spectrum_switchdev: Ignore bridge VLAN events"). Since the VLAN was successfully added on the bridge device, mlxsw_sp_span_respin_work() should be able to resolve the egress port for a packet that is mirrored to a gre tap and passes through the bridge device. Therefore keep the logic as it is. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
