Commitfabef82562("drm/i915: Drop struct_mutex around frontbuffer flushes") adds a dependency to ifbdev->vma when flushing the framebufer, but the checks are only against the existence of the ifbdev->fb and not against ifbdev->vma. This leaves a window of opportunity where we may try to operate on the fbdev prior to it being probed (thanks to asynchronous booting). There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
